As a Commis Chef, you’ll support the kitchen team in preparing and cooking high-quality dishes across a variety of stations. From chopping and portioning to plating and presentation, you’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests. You’ll work closely with senior chefs, follow recipes and standards, and maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen.Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients including chopping, portioning, and storing food
  • Cook and present dishes according to recipes and quality standards
  • Operate kitchen equipment including ovens, grills, fryers, and microwaves
  • Monitor food quality and test dishes for doneness
  • Set up and break down workstations efficiently
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, tools, and equipment
  • Follow food safety procedures and temperature checks
  • Assist in preparing cold foods and mise-en-place for service
  • Support the team during busy service periods
  • Report maintenance issues, accidents, or unsafe conditions to management
  • Uphold company policies, safety standards, and grooming expectations

About You

  • At least 1 year of experience in a commercial kitchen (preferred)
  • Passionate about cooking and eager to learn new techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety
  • Able to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Physically fit and able to stand, lift, and move throughout shifts
  • Clear communicator with a positive attitude
  • Flexible availability including weekends and holidays
