As a Commis Chef, you will work closely under the guidance of senior chefs, playing an important role in maintaining kitchen standards, consistency, and service quality. Key Responsibilities · Assist senior chefs with food preparation and mise en place · Support service across all sections as directed · Ensure all food is prepared and presented to the required standard · Follow recipes, specifications, and instructions from senior chefs Food Quality & Standards · Maintain cleanliness and organisation within assigned work areas · Ensure food quality, freshness, and correct storage at all times · Minimise waste and follow portion control guidance · Uphold kitchen standards and procedures Learning & Development · Learn and develop basic culinary skills and techniques · Attend training sessions and actively seek feedback · Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to learn · Progress skills with the aim of developing within the kitchen brigade Health, Safety & Compliance · Comply with all food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards · Maintain high standards of health & safety within the kitchen · Report accidents, defects, or hazards in line with hotel procedures · Attend mandatory health & safety and fire training · Wear appropriate protective clothing as required Skills & Experience Required · Previous kitchen experience beneficial but not essential · Passion for food and hospitality · Positive attitude with a strong work ethic · Ability to work well as part of a team · Willingness to learn and develop in a professional kitchen environment · Basic food hygiene knowledge preferred
