About the Role
As a Commis Chef in our Pastry Kitchen, you will work closely with the Head Pastry Chef to produce high-quality desserts, pastries, and baked goods that align with Shangri-La’s world-class culinary standards.

ABOUT YOU



    • Able to work in rotating shifts

    • Minimum of 6-month experience in any capacity kitchen or as a kitchen hand in a restaurant or hotel with similar standards.
    • Proficient in basic knife handling and kitchen equipment
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
    • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
      You will be provided with strong guidance and the opportunity to grow your career in a friendly and harmonious work environment.
      You must have working rights in Australia.

    Responsibilities


      • Assist in the preparation and production of pastries, desserts, and baked items under the guidance of the Head Pastry Chef

      • Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation of all pastry items
      • Work independently to prepare required quantities for service, following daily production schedules
      • Adhere strictly to portion control, recipes, and presentation standards
      • Minimise wastage and support cost control efforts by following proper storage and preparation techniques
      • Stay updated on current pastry trends and contribute creative ideas to the menu when appropriate
