Job Description
We’re looking for a passionate and motivated Pastry Commis Chef to join our vibrant kitchen team at Pullman Cairns International. If you have a love for pastry, a creative flair, and a desire to learn in a supportive, fast-paced environment, this is your chance to grow and shine.
In this hands-on role, you’ll work alongside our talented pastry team, preparing a variety of sweet creations that showcase both classic techniques and innovative flair. With guidance and training, you’ll build your skills while playing a key part in delivering exceptional dessert experiences across the hotel.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of pastries, desserts and baked goods.
  • Support mise-en-place and production to ensure smooth service across all shifts
  • Maintain a clean and organised pastry section while adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
  • Learn from experienced pastry chefs to refine your techniques and expand your industry knowledge
  • Collaborate with the broader kitchen team to ensure consistency and excellence in every sweet dish
  • Contribute creativity and ideas to pastry offerings and seasonal menu development as you grow
