Job Description
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and driven Commis Chef to join our vibrant kitchen team at Pullman Cairns International. This hands-on role is perfect for someone passionate about food, eager to grow, and ready to contribute to a dynamic and supportive culinary environment.
You’ll work closely with senior chefs across a range of kitchen sections, preparing high-quality dishes and ensuring every plate reflects our commitment to excellence. With guidance and training, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills while contributing to a fast-paced, high-standard culinary operation.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of dishes across à la carte, buffet, banqueting, and room service offerings
  • Support mise-en-place and daily kitchen prep to ensure smooth service across all shifts
  • Maintain a clean and organised workstation, following all food safety and hygiene standards
  • Receive hands-on mentorship from experienced chefs to build your technical skills and industry knowledge
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to deliver consistent, high-quality meals for every guest
  • Contribute ideas to menu development and improvements as your confidence and experience grow
