Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commis Chef in our beautiful, new independent taproom & kitchen in the centre of historic Bath.
The ideal candidate should be an aspiring chef who is passionate about food and able to follow recipes and instructions accurately whilst gaining experience and developing the foundational skills necessary to progress to more senior positions.
This vital role requires a hands-on approach to ensure the highest quality of service and food safety, while also fostering a positive work environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assisting the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef in prepping, chopping, sorting and storing food items needed for our dishes within our kitchens located in The Welly (Bath) and Somer Valley Farms production kitchen (Peasedown St John).

To include but not limited to -

  • Adhering to food production and food safety standards, including knowledge of allergens and food quality checks.
  • Preparing and finishing products.
  • Learning to cook various dishes under the guidance of experienced chefs.
  • Handling kitchen equipment safely and responsibly.
  • Ensuring your workstation is clean and organised.
  • Storing food in the appropriate containers and at the correct temperatures.
  • Assisting with inventory control and restocking kitchen supplies as required.
  • Participating in kitchen team meetings and training sessions.
