We are looking for a competent commis chef to join our family team at The Washerwoman, based in Glasnevin. With 5 restaurants within the wider group, The Woollen Mills, The Winding Stair, The Legal Eagle, The Washerwoman & The Little Washerwoman we are looking for someone who will have the patience, personality and perseverance to thrive in this role in a small restaurant group with room to grow and develop. This will suit someone who has recently moved into a kitchen role. It will be a mixture of chef assistant and kitchen porter.

SKILLS EXPECTATIONS:

  • At least 1 year experience in a busy kitchen.
  • Written and spoken fluency in English.
  • Excellent communication skills and leadership.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Must have a good working attitude, flexibility, and initiative.
  • Self-motivated and team player.
    Must have a valid work permit and be legally permitted to work in Ireland.
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: €13.60-€14.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week

Responsibilities
  • Manage food production and provide the highest food quality.
  • Ensure the kitchen runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis by the HACCP regulations.
  • Train and develop chef’s skills.
  • Help the Head Chef implement new menus through the year based on current product’s availability.
  • Work with local suppliers to get the best produce at the best price.
  • Using Procure Wizard to complete all orders and dockets for the kitchen.
  • Assist in achievements on gross profit, ensuring minimum waste with a focus on quality.
