Vanilla Blue is an award-winning corporate caterer, providing nourishing meals to clients across Sydney. We are looking for an experienced Commis Chef to join our fast-paced and well-organised Partie-based kitchen team.

ABOUT THIS ROLE:

• ASAP start
• $36 per hour + superannuation
• Typical shifts between 9:30-19:00
• Min 20 hours per week, depending on the needs of the business
• Monday to Friday, generally no weekend work
• Work across our hot, cold and sandwich sections
• Based in Artarmon, 2064

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Prepare and assemble a variety of hot and cold dishes, ensuring high-quality presentation and adherence to company standards
• Prepare, portion, and cook vegetables, meats, and other ingredients for a range of menu items, following standardised recipes and procedures
• Prepare bulk ingredients, dressings, and sauces, maintaining consistency and quality of work
• Maintain a clean and organised workstation, adhering to high food hygiene and safety standards
• Execute tasks with efficiency, collaborate with the team, and consistently surpass production KPIs and deadlines
• Contribute creatively to menu evolution by sharing insightful feedback and suggestions

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE:

• Trade-qualified chef or minimum of 2 years’ experience in a commercial kitchen
• Enjoy multi-tasking and overcome challenges
• Confidence working with a diverse group of people with different levels of experience
• Proven experience working in a fast and clean manner
• Hold current food safety certifications
• Have strong written and spoken English
