Splendido Mare, A Belmond Hotel, part of the LVMH Group, is a charming guesthouse in the heart of the Portofino. Its celebrated restaurant, DaV Mare, embodies all the pleasures of piazzetta living through refined cuisine, curated in partnership with the 3-Michelin-star Cerea family. We are looking for a Commis de Rang for the next season 2025 to join our restaurant team.
The ideal candidate is open to new challenges and ready to constantly develop yourself further. He/she is willing to support the team to provide authentic and luxury dining experiences, demonstrating care, curiosity and community.
He/She should have customer service attitudes.
He/She reports to Chef de Rang.

Main duties & responsibilities:

  • Fulfil the operations- according to the Company policies, high standards and procedures.
  • Take care of the mise en place
  • Support the Chef de Rang with service
  • Clean and set-up floors, tables, chairs, linens, glass and silver for service
  • Monitor all aspects of the customers’ experience, from the restaurant layout before they arrive to the experience they receive during the service. Act to enhance a flawless service and anticipate Guests’ needs

REQUIREMENTS

  • Effective communication: communicate clearly and in an appropriate manner (both verbally and non-verbally).
  • Emotional intelligence: demonstrate sensitivity to the needs and emotions of guests and colleagues and adjust his/her style to them. Manage own emotions in challenging situations.
  • Adaptability: identify when a different approach is needed and offer solutions. Try and adopt new ways of doing things.
  • Collaboration: be able and willing to work as a team player e Share information and skills and actively seek and provide feedback.

Other requirements:

  • Fluent in Italian and basic level of English
  • Tourism or Hospitality degree preferred
  • Previous professional experience in a similar role, also with school internships
  • Passion for service and ambition to grow professionally
  • References
  • HACCP Certification
  • Good knowledge of wines (AIS certification is a plus)
