Job Description As a Commis I - Pastry, you are responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Pastry Kitchen, including the preparation and production of high-quality bakery and pastry items. Ability to make a difference through our Corporate Social Responsibility activities What you will be doing: Maintain and enforce high hygiene, food safety, and sanitation standards across the pastry section in line with HACCP. Support and take responsibility for the pastry section in the absence of the immediate supervisor, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. Produce a wide range of bakery and pastry items including breads, cakes, desserts with consistency and quality. Ensure all food is prepared and presented according to approved menu specifications, recipes, portion control, and visual standards. Organize the section as per the Outlet Chef’s operational plan, ensuring effective workflow and readiness for service, banquets, room service, and events. Practice effective inventory control, including par stock management, requisitioning, proper storage, and participation in inventory counts to minimize wastage and control costs. Assist in quality control, equipment maintenance monitoring, and adherence to standardized pastry facility and product sanitation standards. Actively participate in training, production schedules and team coordination while maintaining a professional relationship with the team. Qualifications Your experience and skills include: 2–3 years of proven pastry and bakery experience, preferably in the hospitality industry. Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise, train, and motivate a pastry team. Highly creative and passionate about pastry arts, presentation, and guest satisfaction. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Solid knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and quality standards. Skilled in recipe costing, portion control, and maintaining consistency in production. Additional Information Visa requirements: Please note that you must be eligible to live and work in Dubai.
