Job Description Join our culinary team as a Commis I specializing in South Indian Cuisine in the vibrant city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to assist in the preparation and cooking of authentic South Indian dishes in our bustling kitchen. Assist in the preparation of ingredients for South Indian dishes, including washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring Support senior chefs in cooking and plating South Indian specialties Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards Operate and maintain kitchen equipment properly Follow recipes and cooking instructions accurately Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and service Assist in inventory management and stock rotation Participate in kitchen cleaning and sanitation tasks Learn and adapt to new cooking techniques and recipes Contribute to a positive and teamwork-oriented kitchen environment Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school diploma or certificate preferred Knowledge of South Indian cuisine, ingredients, and cooking techniques Proficiency in knife skills and food preparation techniques Familiarity with kitchen equipment operation and maintenance Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices; food safety certification (e.g., ServSafe) preferred Basic math skills for recipe measurements and conversions Excellent time management and multitasking abilities Strong teamwork and communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays Willingness to learn and grow in the culinary field Knowledge of local food regulations and standards in Dubai Ability to work legally in Dubai, United Arab Emirates Additional Information Minimum 1 year of experience in the same or similar role Prior experience working with Opera or a related system Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities Fluency in English, additional languages are a plus
