Job Description As a Commis III at DELANO Dubai, you will support the kitchen team with fundamental food preparation and basic operational tasks, contributing to a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. Working under close supervision, you will learn and develop essential culinary skills while ensuring all duties are carried out with discipline, consistency, and attention to detail in line with DELANO standards. Basic Food Preparation: Assist with fundamental tasks such as washing, peeling, trimming, and basic portioning of ingredients Mise-en-Place Support: Help prepare and maintain a clean, organised, and well-stocked workstation before and during service Kitchen Assistance: Support senior chefs during service by carrying out simple, assigned tasks accurately and promptly Hygiene & Cleanliness: Maintain strict cleanliness standards and follow HACCP and food safety procedures at all times Ingredient Handling: Assist with proper storage, labelling, and rotation of ingredients to ensure freshness and minimise waste Team Support: Work closely with Commis II, Commis I, and Demi Chef de Partie to support smooth kitchen operations Learning & Development: Actively learn basic culinary techniques, kitchen procedures, and brand standards under supervision Kitchen Discipline: Follow instructions carefully, demonstrating reliability, punctuality, and a positive work ethic Operational Support: Assist with general kitchen duties to ensure efficiency and cleanliness throughout service Standards Awareness: Begin developing an understanding of DELANO culinary standards, recipes, and presentation expectations Qualifications Luxury Experience: Previous experience as a Commis III in a luxury hotel, high-end restaurant, or similar environment preferred Culinary Foundation: Basic understanding of culinary techniques, food preparation, and kitchen operations Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy, cleanliness, and presentation standards Hygiene Knowledge: Understanding of basic food safety and HACCP principles Team Player: Willingness to learn and work collaboratively within a structured kitchen brigade Adaptability: Able to perform in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment Educational Background: A formal culinary qualification or international culinary training is preferred, with strong technical foundations.
