Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Commis Pastry to join our culinary team in Jakarta, Indonesia. In this entry-level pastry position, you will work under the guidance of our pastry chef to prepare, bake, and present a variety of pastries and desserts. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your pastry skills while contributing to our commitment to delivering exceptional culinary experiences. Prepare pastry doughs, batters, and fillings according to established recipes and procedures Assist in the production of cakes, tarts, pastries, and other baked goods with precision and consistency Maintain accurate measurements and follow recipes to ensure quality and uniformity across all pastry items Operate pastry equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, and specialized pastry tools Organize and maintain the pastry station, ensuring all ingredients and tools are properly stored and accessible Monitor baking times and temperatures to achieve optimal results Assist with pastry decoration, plating, and presentation to meet aesthetic standards Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards in all pastry preparation areas Support the pastry team with inventory management and ordering of supplies as needed Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of pastry items to service Adapt to dietary requirements and allergen management protocols as directed Qualifications Foundational knowledge of pastry preparation and baking techniques Understanding of pastry ingredients and their functional properties Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes precisely Excellent organizational and time management skills Ability to work effectively as part of a kitchen brigade Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights Basic culinary knife skills Familiarity with pastry equipment operation Strong communication and teamwork abilities Willingness to learn and take direction from senior pastry staff **Preferred Qualifications:** Previous experience working in a professional kitchen or pastry environment Knowledge of French pastry techniques Experience with pastry decoration and plating Familiarity with dietary requirements and allergen management Culinary training or certification in pastry arts Job-Category: Culinary Job Type: Temporary Job Schedule: Full-Time
