ABOUT THE ROLE

Start your journey with the JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa as a Commis Pastry Chef to help our passionate kitchen team to create mouth-watering food for our guests. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, you will form a key part of a team who are responsible for providing high quality product to our luxury guests. We are currently recruiting for an experienced and dedicated Commis Chef – Pastry, to join our fast paced and dynamic Kitchen operation.

CRITICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicate any assistance needed during busy periods to the Chef to ensure optimum services
  • Check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food
  • Ensure proper portion, arrangement, and food garnish to be served
  • Monitor the quantity of food that is prepared and the portions that are served
  • Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing
  • Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables
  • Wash and disinfect kitchen area including tables, tools, knives, and equipment
  • Prepare and cook food.
  • Set-up, clean and break down work station
  • Preparation and baking of all in house cakes, breads & pastries
