As a Commis Waiter at Akara restaurant, West African restaurant based in Borough Market, you will provide an exceptional dining experience to our guests.

• Guest Service:
• Provide outstanding, personalized service to guests, making them feel welcome and comfortable throughout their dining experience.
• Greet guests warmly, escort them to their table, and present menus.
• Guide guests through the menu, offering recommendations, describing dishes and ingredients, and answering any questions.
• Order Taking & Delivery:
• Accurately take and relay orders to the kitchen, ensuring any special dietary requirements or allergies are communicated.
• Serve food and beverages efficiently, ensuring presentation and temperature are in line with restaurant standards.
• Table Maintenance:
• Set and clear tables efficiently, ensuring that the dining area is clean, well-organized, and welcoming at all times.
• Replace cutlery, glassware, and napkins as needed throughout the meal service.
• Keep the dining area tidy and assist in maintaining the cleanliness of service stations.
• Teamwork & Collaboration:
• Collaborate effectively with the kitchen and other waitstaff to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction.
• Work as part of a team to deliver a seamless dining experience, maintaining a positive and respectful work environment.
• Support colleagues with tasks such as refilling drinks, clearing plates, or delivering food to tables.
• Maintaining Professional Standards:
• Adhere to all service standards and protocols to meet the Michelin-star level of service excellence.
• Maintain a professional appearance, including a clean, pressed uniform and impeccable grooming.
• Follow all safety, hygiene, and food handling regulations.
