Description The Position: As a Cook, at the commissary kitchen of Fireside Catering, you will be responsible for prepping ingredients for a wide variety of menus for high end weddings in a scratch kitchen. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, excellent knife skills, and experience in all stations of a professional kitchen (fry, saute, grill, ovens, broil). This job has flexible hours and can work well combined with other jobs. There are both full-time and part-time hours available. The Perks: Flexible day time hours. Shifts could start as early as 6am or as late as 3pm. Full time or Part-time hours available. Experience preferred but not necessary - We will train the right person! Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation of ingredients for dishes, including cutting, chopping, and measuring ingredients Follow recipes and directions provided by the Chefs to ensure that all dishes are prepared consistently and to high quality standards Work with other kitchen staff members to ensure that all prep lists are completed and have been made correctly and in a timely manner. Label and store all prepped food items and ingredients properly. Ensure that all food is prepared and presented in accordance with food safety and sanitation guidelines Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area, including proper storage and labeling of all food items Requirements: Must be able to lift 30 lbs. Desire to cultivate your culinary skills; learn proper knife skills, baking, etc. Take pride in your job – We use ingredients from our own farm, The Farm at Gibbet Hill and many local vendors.
