OVERVIEW OF POSITION - COMMISSARY PRODUCTION TEAM MEMBER

Impact Kitchen is looking for an experienced individual to join our Commissary Kitchen team. As proper food handling and safety are of the utmost importance, a primary role of the Steward is to assist with deliveries and monitor sanitation and cleanliness in the commissary department. This position is highly physical; therefore, individuals must possess a strong level of physical stamina. Candidates must have previous Dishwasher experience and some formal culinary training is desirable, although not required. Ideal candidates are both efficient and effective employees who possess superior time management skills and communication skills, are team players, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Reports to: Commissary Kitchen Manager

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of kitchen experience in a QSR or similar environment with a general understanding of cooking fundamentals and practices
  • Strong understanding of food safety and public health practices
  • Ability to execute and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to multitask when required
  • Ability to communicate effectively, respectfully and work well with others in a team based setting
  • Be able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time
  • Available to work
  • 5 days/week with availability of Monday to Sunday
  • full time hours (40 hours/week)
  • morning & daytime shifts
  • Food Handlers is an asset but not required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 LBS
  • Full G Drivers licence with clean driving recor
Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain sanitation and cleanliness of the Kitchen, fridges/ freezers and commissary area.
  • Properly recycle all boxes and food scraps.
  • Deliver large containers/bins to the Kitchen, as needed.
  • Operate delivery van
  • Comply with all Impact Kitchen policies and procedures.
  • Perform general and deep cleaning of all areas in kitchen.
  • Handle all chemicals according to the Safety Data Sheets provided (WHMIS, WHMIS 2015).
  • Operate equipment according to training
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
