Job Description: Commissioner – Ontario Jr. B Lacrosse League
Position Type: Part-Time / Contract
Reports To: Ontario JrB Lacrosse League Board of Governors
Location: Ontario (with travel as outlined)

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Commissioner of the Jr. B Lacrosse League serves as the chief executive officer and is responsible for leading the league’s operations, growth, and strategic direction. Reporting to the Board of Governors, the Commissioner ensures league integrity, compliance with regulations, and acts as a key liaison among teams, sponsors, media, and governing bodies. This part-time role requires approximately 10 hours/week in the off-season and 25 hours/week during the season, with occasional travel within Ontario (up to 5 times/year) and one national trip annually.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business, or related field (preferred).
· In-depth understanding of lacrosse rules and operations, preferably at the Jr. B level or higher.
· Demonstrated leadership, conflict resolution, and decision-making abilities.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Experience with budgeting, sponsorships, or league administration (an asset).
· Passion for youth sports and athlete development.
· Availability and willingness to travel as required.
