Overview Summary Our Commissioning Technicians are highly valued. We expect our commissioners to perform field operations with the highest level of quality, safety and integrity. As a member of our commissioning team, you will always be responsible for yourself and your team members’ safety. Additional training may be required for you to fully perform at your expected tech level. We ensure our commissioners are trained in all aspects of the commissioning process. You will be expected to perform within your tech level to support our field operations throughout North America on various projects and platforms from different manufacturers. Your goal is to commission or recommission by putting “into service” or “returning to service” the wind turbine power plant/s as per our contractual requirements in a safe and timely manner. Responsibilities Adhere to all safety protocols issued to the project that affect your scope of responsibility Act with the highest level of professionalism when interacting with our customers Manage your time and assigned resources responsibly to ensure successful completion of our project goals Participate in relevant LOTO processes as required and/or directed Comply with procedure adherence and quality processes Able to evaluate fault codes, read and understand schematics, and develop a sound plan that addresses the problem and results in a speedy resolution Ensure wtg systems are tested and commissioned in accordance with approved platform specific documentation Ensure corrective action is taken repair all issues that impact turbine and component completions Interact with turbine controls through multiple interfaces via epalm, solution center, webpages, toolbox, scada, etc Interact directly with customer engineering and personnel for advanced support Assist leadership to overcome obstacles by assisting to find safe solutions Report site issues through your internal chain of command Understand multiple platform schematics, work instructions, tooling, parts, etc Assist in the development of new processes and work procedures Support lateral department needs when applicable Adapt to ever changing environments Maintain technical experience for controls interface and troubleshooting purposes across multiple OEM’s Remain flexible to spontaneous schedule shifts, unforeseen time constraints, early callouts with little to no warning Represent IEA / Mastec in a responsible manner by exercising good judgment during both working and non-working hours Qualifications EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: High School or GED, Associate wind degree, OEM certificate, bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: GWO BST, BTT, and ART GE NAM Tech Essentials/LOTO (preferred) GE 1X/2X/3X Basics (preferred) Onshore or Offshore wind turbine commissioning or related fields of installation of wind turbine components experience welcomed. 3 years previous wind turbine field operations preferred. Knowledge of basic construction; mechanical inclination; schematic reading and comprehension, hydraulic tensioning, torqueing, fastener/bolting, hydraulic cylinders, office proficiency with Word and Excel.
