Job Description Join CERN's Electrical Engineering team to support the operation and commissioning of its electrical transmission and distribution network. We are looking for a motivated electrical engineer with experience in power system testing and commissioning, and solid knowledge of High Voltage and Low Voltage installations and protection systems. You will play a key role in delivering new and upgraded infrastructure during CERN's Long Shutdown 3 and beyond. Your responsibilities Lead or co-lead commissioning of HV and LV electrical systems including switchgears, transformers, circuit breakers, UPS, 48 V DC systems and protection relays. Develop commissioning procedures, test plans and risk assessments. Execute advanced commissioning tests covering protection logic, SCADA communication and interlocking functions. Diagnose commissioning issues and implement corrective actions. Coordinate with project teams, operations and external suppliers. Produce commissioning reports and maintain CERN documentation. Support operational activities, including periodic network testing when required. This role includes team supervision responsibilities. Your profile Proven experience in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Protection and Control, or Commissioning. Hands-on experience with HV/LV equipment, protection relays and power system operation. Practical experience in testing or commissioning electrical systems is an asset. Skills Operation and maintenance of electrical circuits and networks. Construction, test and commissioning of electrical circuits and networks. Organisation, planning and control, including supervision of works. Ability to work independently and manage commissioning tasks within project frameworks. Strong problem-solving skills, communication abilities and field-work readiness. Spoken and written English, with a commitment to learn French. Eligibility criteria: You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State. You have a professional background in Electrical Engineering (or a related field) and have either: a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience; or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.
