Lead Electrical Engineer


Job Description — Oil & Gas / EPC Projects

The Lead Electrical Engineer serves as the discipline lead and technical authority for all electrical engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, from FEED and detailed engineering through procurement, construction, commissioning, start-up, and project handover, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, schedule, and budget requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Engineering Leadership & Management
  • Lead and manage the electrical engineering team, allocating resources and overseeing all discipline activities.
  • Establish project electrical design philosophy, design basis, and engineering standards.
  • Review, verify, and approve all electrical engineering deliverables before submission.
  • Mentor engineers and designers and support competency development.
  • Review & independently verify critical calculations, third-party studies, and safety-related designs.
  1. Project Execution & Coordination
  • Support proposal, estimation, and project execution activities.
  • Monitor engineering progress, man-hours, schedules, and budgets.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation measures.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, vendors, construction teams, and multidisciplinary engineering groups.
  1. Electrical Engineering & Design
  • Lead the design and engineering of HV, MV, and LV power systems, substations, switchgear, transformers, MCCs, UPS systems, emergency generators, motors, VFDs, lighting, earthing, lightning protection, and hazardous area electrical installations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable international standards, company specifications, and project requirements.
  1. Engineering Deliverables & Studies
  • Prepare, review, and approve key engineering documents including design basis, philosophies, load lists, SLDs, schematics, layouts, datasheets, cable schedules, and material requisitions.
  • Lead and approve electrical system studies such as load flow, short circuit, motor starting, protection coordination, arc flash, harmonic analysis, transient stability, cable sizing, earthing, lightning protection, and e-HAZOP studies.
  1. Procurement & Vendor Management
  • Support procurement activities including technical bid evaluations and vendor selection.
  • Review vendor documents and drawings and participate in technical clarification meetings.
  • Witness FAT, IFAT, and SAT activities to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  1. Construction, Commissioning & Start-Up Support
  • Provide technical support during site surveys, installation, testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and system energization.
  • Resolve technical queries, field changes, and punch-list items.
  • Support project start-up, performance testing, and final handover activities.
  1. HSE, Quality & Reliability
  • Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, PTW systems, and quality management procedures.
  • Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, e-HAZOP, and design risk assessment reviews.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of electrical failures and recommend reliability and asset management improvements.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualification & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 15–20 years of experience in EPC/Oil & Gas projects, including extensive expertise in HV/MV/LV power systems, electrical studies, and multidisciplinary project execution.


Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Engineer


Job Description — Oil & Gas / EPC Projects Engineering & Design

Serves as a member of the I&C engineering team on Oil & Gas EPC projects, contributing to detailed engineering, design, and documentation under the Lead I&C Engineer — supporting estimation, procurement, construction, and commissioning to meet safety, quality, schedule, and cost requirements.


Core Requirements:

  • Prepare and review Instrumentation engineering deliverables per Company standards, specifications, IEC, ISA, API, and NFPA standards.
  • Develop and review Instrument Index, I/O List, Datasheets, Control Philosophies, Cause & Effect, Logic, Loop & Hook-up Drawings, Cable/JB Schedules, Installation & Architecture Drawings.
  • Participate in HAZOP, SIL, ALARP, Design Reviews, and Functional Safety studies.
  • Experience with Hydrocarbon, refinery, petrochemical, offshore, LNG, gas processing, or upstream Oil & Gas projects.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills; self-motivated, results-oriented, flexible under tight schedules.

Control Systems Engineering

  • Design, review, and coordinate DCS, ESD, PLC, SCADA, SIS, F&G, and HSSD systems.
  • Review system configuration, graphics, alarms, trends, logic implementation, and cybersecurity requirements (IEC 62443).
  • Coordinate with vendors for hardware/software engineering; input for multi-discipline projects including HVAC.

Procurement & Vendor Management

  • Prepare Material Requisitions (MR), Technical Requisitions (TR), and Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE).
  • Review vendor offers, technical compliance, and engineering deliverables; coordinate and witness FAT.

Interdisciplinary Coordination

  • Interface with Process, Electrical, Mechanical, Piping, Telecom, Civil, and HSE disciplines.
  • Resolve technical interfaces and ensure integrated project design.

Construction, Testing & Commissioning

  • Provide engineering support during construction; review technical queries, site changes, and deviations.
  • Support SAT, loop checking, interlock testing, cause & effect, integrated testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and plant start-up.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Company standards, project specifications, Company’s requirements, and international codes.
  • Participate in technical meetings with Clients, Consultants, Vendors, and Construction Teams.
  • Review and finalize as-built drawings, O&M manuals, spare parts lists, and handover dossiers.

Quality, HSE & Project Controls

  • Ensure compliance with QA/QC and HSE requirements; support risk assessments and safety reviews.
  • Deliver engineering activities safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation, Electronics & Instrumentation, Electrical & Electronics, or Automation Engineering.
  • Minimum 08–10 years I&C engineering experience; minimum 4-5 years Oil & Gas EPC project experience.
  • Experience in Onshore, Offshore, Brownfield, and Greenfield projects.
  • Strong knowledge of DCS, ESD, PLC, SCADA, SIS, F&G, HSSD, IEC 61508, IEC 61511, IEC 62443, ISA Standards, and Company’s specifications. ADNOC experience preferred.
