Job Description The Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for cold commissioning various projects all around the UK and mentoring young aspiring commissioning technicians. A strong understanding of cold commissioning 11-33kV switchgear. Liaising with customers representatives and delivering switchgear installations for various manufacturers such as Siemens, Schneider, Ormazabal, ABB and others. Key Accountabilities Mentor up and coming Test & Commissioning technicians. Carry out and document all tasks associated with the pre-commissioning / commissioning of the equipment. Be responsible in handing over a fully operational system for acceptance by the customer. Ensure health and safety procedures and standards are followed on site. Ensure all Health and safety documentation is filed, maintained and updated on site. Ensure commissioning schedules, handover and witnessing documents are updated, maintained, completed and filed / issued to project manager prior to project completion. Carry out factory acceptance testing when required, Site acceptance testing and customer witnessing. Ensure sites are cleared of equipment and materials / products prior to handover / completion. Qualifications HNC or equivalent in Engineering. At least 5-years working within the Power Industry. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal and ability to communicate effectively. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Computer literate with experience of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook. Full UK Driving license. Has good working knowledge of basic protection relays and functions. Is capable of performing tests such as Contact resistance (Ductor), Insulation resistance, AC dielectric with-stand tests, CT/VT primary and polarity checks, relay secondary injection, scheme checks and CT analysis. Capable of working with protection relays and making minor changes to settings and configs as and when required. Installation tests on distribution Transformers. Assist Senior Commissioning Engineers on major projects. Additional Information Role Type: Permanent, Full-time
