Commissioning Manager – Data Centres at Goodman: The Commissioning Manager is responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and execution of commissioning activities across Goodman’s data centre projects initially focussed on the 61MW SYD01 project in Artarmon. The role ensures that all critical systems are tested, validated, and handed over in accordance with statutory requirements, Goodman and Customer standards, and industry best practice. The role will also drive the evolution of Goodman commissioning framework, scope of works, standards and quality requirements. The role will oversee the scoping and engagement of third party Commissioning Agents, aligning General Contractor, Sub-Contractor, OFCI LLE Vendor and other necessary stakeholders for successful commissioning and handover of critical assets. The Commissioning Manager provides technical leadership throughout the commissioning lifecycle, ensuring systems perform safely, reliably, to the design intent and facilitate a seamless transition from construction to operations across Goodman’s data centre portfolio. Day to Day: Commissioning Planning & Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive commissioning strategies and plans, including pre‑commissioning, commissioning, and integrated systems testing (IST). Define commissioning scopes, sequencing, acceptance criteria, and readiness milestones aligned to project delivery programs. Establish commissioning governance, procedures, and documentation standards across projects. Customer Understanding & Engagement: Maintain current knowledge of End Customer commissioning requirements and standards Ensure the Goodman commissioning baseline requirements are able to adapt quickly to End Customer requirements Engage with the End Customer to tailor and refine the commissioning requirements to the particular situation and align all stakeholders Commissioning Execution: Lead commissioning activities for all critical data centre systems, ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance with project requirements. Manage commissioning teams, independent commissioning agents, and specialist contractors throughout the commissioning lifecycle. Coordinate and oversee integrated systems testing and performance verification activities. Continuous Improvement & Reporting: Track and report commissioning progress, risks, and performance metrics to Goodman and End Customer stakeholders. Analyse commissioning outcomes to identify lessons learned and drive continuous improvement. Stay current with commissioning best practices, emerging technologies, and data centre operational requirements. Stakeholder Engagement & Handover: Act as the primary point of contact for all commissioning matters across assigned projects. Chair and facilitate commissioning meetings, readiness reviews, and handover workshops. Support the transition from construction to operations, ensuring systems, documentation, and training requirements are complete and fit for purpose. Requirements: Minimum 8 years’ experience in commissioning management within large-scale construction, infrastructure, or data centre environments. Proven track record delivering complex commissioning and IST outcomes, forming and maintaining relationships with End Customers, Contractors, Sub-Contractors, OFCI Vendors and Consultants Experience scoping, engaging and managing commissioning agents, specialist contractors, and multidisciplinary teams Experience conducting integrated systems testing, performance verification, and technical troubleshooting. Successful history of driving continuous improvement initiatives and achieving measurable technical outcomes. Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline.
