Position summary: JMT is seeking a Commissioning Project Engineer to execute facilities commissioning projects; contributing to our more than 25-year history and reputation of providing quality commissioning services to major facility owners in the mid-Atlantic region. Upon joining JMT the Commissioning Project Engineer will be joining an existing staff of knowledgeable engineering and commissioning professionals across all JMT’s regional offices. The Commissioning Project Engineer is responsible for delivering all tasks for assigned commissioning projects either through execution or effective delegation and quality control. Commissioning projects are executed both in the office and at construction project sites, and span design phase through warranty phase. Typical task assignments include review of design documents, review of submittal documents, development of commissioning process documentation, performance of site visits for installation and testing observation, execution of functional performance testing, issues tracking, and development of commissioning record documentation. The ideal candidate will have extensive background in independently executing building systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, special systems, architecture, etc.) commissioning projects, including design reviews, field experience in commercial HVAC/plumbing/electrical installations, Testing & Balancing, interpreting control sequence of operations, and/or Building Automation Systems/Direct Digital Controls installation and programming. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. Essential functions and responsibilities * Plan, schedule, coordinate, and conduct commissioning activities in accordance with provided scopes of work and standard commissioning practices. * Perform independent 3rd-party commissioning reviews of project design documents to confirm design intent and ability of commissioned systems to be properly verified per the requirements of the contract documents. * Development, review, and implementation of critical commissioning process documentation. * Assist in the resolution of a variety of complex problems that may arise throughout the lifecycle of a commissioning project. * Serve as a liaison between clients, contractors, subcontractors, and design teams. * Communicate project status, updates, and issues to internal and external stakeholders.  * Provide technical guidance and supervision of work performed by junior commissioning / engineering staff. * Participate in project scope and fee development with project managers.
