Job Description Kanadevia Inova are urgently seeking a Commissioning Shift Team Leader to join our Commissioning team on the Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF) in Rivenhall, Braintree, Essex. Start Date: 01/12/2025 End Date: 31/03/2026 Lead and coordinate commissioning and operational activities to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant plant performance. Supervise shift teams, ensuring adherence to HSEQ standards, Permit-to-Work procedures, and site safety regulations. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize plant systems, identifying and resolving technical issues during commissioning and operation. Maintain accurate operational records, logs, and reports while ensuring effective communication between departments and contractors. Drive continuous improvement by supporting training, team development, and process optimization across commissioning activities. Qualifications Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in power generation, including 2–5 years as a Control Room Operator (CRO), ideally within EfW or similar large-scale plants. Proven leadership in Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) management, with knowledge of relevant legislation. SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) and valid Safety Contractors Certificate (SCC) or equivalent required. Strong understanding of DCS systems and experience leading Permit-to-Work processes. ASME/pressure vessel operation certification preferred; SAP Operator qualifications (mechanical/electrical) an advantage. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, with flexibility to work shifts and travel as required.
