Commissioning Advisor

PlanET’s portfolio covers all areas of biogas technology including Aerobic Digestors and RNG systems from initial planning, design, construction to on-site service and remote support.
For the continued expansion of its North American operations, PlanET is looking for a Commissioning and Operations Advisor to join our team. Reporting to the Commissioning Lead, the selected candidate will be expected to handle all aspects of Commissioning and Operations support services of anaerobic digester and RNG upgrading projects across North America.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that safety of PlanET employees, PlanET subcontractors, and customers is paramount by implementation of PlanET Safety Program rules.
- Advise customers during the Dynamic Commissioning phase with feed plans, sampling requirements and operations support for both anerobic digesters and gas upgrading equipment.
- Oversee commissioning and operation of other ancillary equipment within project scope and support as needed
- Collaborate with internal resources and 3rd party contractors to close out project tasks and optimize plant safety and efficiency
- Facilitate equipment performance testing with clients and external teams.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and accurate data collection.
- Analyze data from operating plants and provide advice on feeding updates / operational changes as required
- Duties include installing, inspecting, maintaining, operating, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating various mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and electronic equipment.
- Performs Inspection and Maintenance (I&M) checks on all control systems.
- Completing all appropriate documentation associated with the commissioning duties.
- Follow-up with clients to ensure their plants are running at optimal output.
- Provide commissioning advisory and operation support to our customer base.
- Recognizes and corrects potential equipment failure or unsafe conditions and communicates this to the Operations Manager and site personnel.
- Train operators for the plant owners to ensure proper handover at project completion
- Provide technical advice and knowledge to local third-party construction companies to ensure the proper installation of PlanET’s proprietary technology.
- Ensures that all work performed meets required federal, state and local codes and is in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
- Maintain a punch list of deficiencies and ensure all deficiency items are closed out in proper and timely manner.
- Assist with growing our service division in an operational excellence capacity
- Mentor fellow employees when the opportunity presents itself.

Qualifications:
- Industrial, Operations and Commissioning experiences preferred
- Experience with operations of an anaerobic digester plant
- Functional knowledge of biological commissioning of anaerobic digesters
- Functional knowledge of mechanical components (valves, pipe fittings, bearings, motors, gearboxes, etc.).
- Ability to read and/or interpret mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic blueprints or schematics.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with all levels of the organization both written and verbal; includes building relationships with team lead and department Manager.
- Strong mechanical repair/troubleshooting skills.
- Strong organization skills and ability to adhere to tight timelines
- Frequent travel of up to 2 weeks required for the duration of each project.
- Results driven with strong communication and organizational skills.
- A self-starter and an independent worker
- Ability to speak, read, and write German would be an asset.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Suite of products
- Must have valid driver’s license and have the ability to work in Canada and the United States
Working Conditions:
- This job operates both indoors and outdoors in areas that are not environmentally controlled. This job may be exposed to weather or under cover and in close physical proximity with others.
- Exposure to hazardous conditions and equipment.
Physical Requirements:
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines.
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for up to 8 hours a day.
- Spend time bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pulling, pushing, lifting, grasping, or twisting the body.
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
