JOB SUMMARY

As a Commissions Specialist, you will support the Director of Commissions in managing agent and agency onboarding, inquiries, and commissions. This includes communicating with and answering questions from agents, agency principals, and carriers. You will be working closely with the contracting department to ensure contracts and commissions are set up correctly for the agents.
This position requires a highly organized and analytical individual with a background in data entry, accounting, or finance. We are looking for a highly responsible and teachable candidate who can learn quickly and work independently.

PRIMARY SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proven work experience in Accounting or Finance
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software
  • Familiarity with advanced formulas in MS Excel
  • Excellent analytical skills along with the ability to create and present detailed reports
  • Ability to accurately process and audit numerical data
  • Problem-solving attitude, teachable, proactive, detail-oriented, and organized
  • Confidentiality
  • BS in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent certification
Responsibilities
  • Work with carriers and agencies to track and audit commissions received
  • Format and enter commission data into required database systems
  • Proactively reach out to agents to update payment and payroll information
  • Answer incoming phone calls and emails from agents and other employees and respond in a professional manner
  • Keep shared email inbox up-to-date and organized
  • Learn additional finance department processes and prepare for expanded department roles and growth
  • Assist with auditing and CRM management
  • Spearhead accounts payable and receivable
  • Collaborate with other team members to support clear and up-to-date reports
  • Execute payroll responsibilities as needed
