JOB SUMMARY

If you want to play a central role in ensuring our organisation is efficient, effective and meeting the expectations of those we work with, then our Committee and Governance Clerk role is for you.
You will work directly with the Ombudsman, Chief Executive and Board to coordinate and support a range of governance meetings and ensure LGSCO complies with its statutory role and responsibilities as a public body. This is a pivotal and highly visible role in an organisation that leads the way in transparency and innovation through a culture of trust, empowerment and confidence.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Head of Policy and Communications, you will support the Ombudsman, in their role as Ombudsman and Chair of the Commission, to discharge their function and ensure the Commission complies with its statutory role and obligations as a public body.
You will also work with the Chief Executive Officer to ensure we implement effective corporate governance and you will be the main point of contact, on their behalf, with the internal auditors.
You will also coordinate and support a range of governance meetings, ensuring they operate in accordance with all legal and internally agreed standards and procedures, including preparing agendas, preparing and distributing papers, drafting and circulating minutes, ensuring actions are completed and, where appropriate, taking action personally on decisions.
