Description

PERMANENT CONTRACT - 37 HOURS A WEEK. MONDAY TO THURSDAYS 8.45AM-4.45PM AND FRIDAYS 8:45AM-4.15PM WITH OCCASIONAL EVENING MEETINGS.

Camborne Town Council is already on a journey of aspiration and ambition as it works towards its Vision and Objectives. Based in the town of Camborne, an area rich in heritage and well known for its links with Richard Trevithick’s steam carriage and mining past, this is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant and forward-thinking team.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Committee Support Officer to work closely with the Town Clerk and Town Council team to deliver effective governance and administrative processes. This includes ensuring compliance with legal and statutory requirements, drafting and finalising minutes, and following up on action points.
You will have experience of working as an administrator and hold 4 GCSE’s grade 4 or above including GCSE English or an equivalent qualification. You will have good interpersonal skills and an openness to learning and change. Time management and the ability to meet deadlines are essential, along with knowledge of record keeping and data handling.

Responsibilities
  • Support Standing Committees and Council governance processes.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and statutory requirements.
  • Draft and finalise minutes, identify action points, and issue follow-up correspondence.
  • Attend meetings, take notes, record decisions, and maintain attendance and declarations.
  • Assist with preparation and publication of agendas, reports, and minutes via SharePoint.
  • Maintain accurate filing and archiving systems for Council documentation.
  • Provide ad hoc support for additional meetings as needed.
  • Update Council website and SharePoint in line with transparency requirements.
  • Assist with implementing Council decisions through basic research tasks.
  • Clerk meetings in the absence of the Town Clerk or Senior Management.
  • Undertake other duties as required, in line with the role.
If you believe you would relish working in a small team with a flexible, hands-on, can- do attitude, we would love to hear from you.
