Description
Reviews, drafts and negotiates contracts and required documentation (including the ISDA, NAESB, EEI, LEAP, and bespoke commodity agreements) for the Commodities business in North America, including financial and physical energy (including crude and refined products, natural gas, natural gas liquids, and power), metals, and agricultural products. Conducts business negotiations of medium complexity in a timely, thorough, and efficient manner. Engages with unresponsive counterparties, maintaining detailed records of the negotiations. Stays abreast of new and changing regulatory and legal issues and industry initiatives and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements. Supports the development and implementation of projects relating to implementation of regulation, process improvements or development of new products and services. Advises the Risk function and business partners on risks and associated documentation requirements based on product and relevant jurisdiction(s). 5-8 years of relevant commodity industry and/or commodity-focused derivatives industry experience. Commodity trading contractual and documentation negotiation experience in a large institutional setting. Proven record of completing complex documentation within very tight time deadlines. Ability to manage complex documentation with organization and detail. Must possess excellent interpersonal and project management skills, as well as the ability to interact and communicate effectively with Senior management. Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook. In-depth knowledge of legal customs and practices. Knowledge and understanding of the commodity industry and/or commodity-focused derivatives industry.
