Description
Know the exterior glass commodity parts and understand cost drivers to deliver cost targets Develop, maintain, and execute the glass Commodity Business Plan (CBP) strategy Foster professional and healthy supplier partnerships Lead, plan, develop, and implement supplier commercial negotiations Work effectively with cross-functional teams regionally and/or globally Quote, negotiate and source suppliers for the purchase price of production parts, and tooling Complete sourcing activities and recommend suppliers for new program lamps Establish and implement sourcing strategy for exterior glass (i.e., windshields, backlites, roof glass, etc.) Assist in the resolution of cost, quality, and delivery issues affecting the supply Support GCT Buyers in both Service and Production and cross-functional partners to develop strategies and implement solutions Identify and implement cost reductions Negotiate cost avoidances for suppliers requesting cost increases. Established and active employee resource groups Bachelor's degree in business or engineering 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, and/or sourcing experience Previous Purchasing experience with glass, electrical, mechanical, or physical components Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate and analyze data to enable operational decision-making Ability to conduct sourcing evaluations / business case studies and present clear recommendations to leadership Ability to build network relationships with cross-functional skill teams (PD, STA, finance, and OGC) Project management skills and process discipline Willing to work onsite in the Dearborn, MI area Master's degree in business or engineering Human Center Design Thinking Experience Experience using SAP
