CULTURAL
- To ensure that work is planned and delivered with respect for the diversity of young people engaged in
the organisation, in particular lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and queer young people, and the wider LGBTQ+
community.
- To have responsibility for expressing our culture through the tone and messaging of the organisation
through external channels (e.g. social media, email newsletter).
- To contribute to a positive and inclusive culture, working collaboratively to achieve common goals.
Operational (includes administrative, delivery, youth work coordination, meetings and events)
- Produce multi-channel marketing & communications plans with clearly defined and measurable
objectives, to support the charity’s overall strategic goals, including the following channels;
- A monthly schedule of content for social media which grows the charity’s reach and reputation,
ensuring appropriate moderation of comments to maintain a safe online environment.
- Paid digital advertising campaigns (primarily Meta, Google and LinkedIn) with clear KPIs, working
to an allocated budget with supervision.
- Regular email newsletters to promote the charity’s activities, in line with strategic goals.
- Conduct regular monthly reviews of all communications activities listed above, reporting on results and
giving recommendations.
- To lead on digital accessibility across all communication channels, undertaking regular training where
necessary to keep up to date with best practices.
- Work collaboratively with delivery teams and young people to ensure youth voice is centred in all
communications.
- Monitor the external landscape, including press and social media, to inform all marketing and
communications decisions, as well as identifying potential reputational risks which should be escalated
to an appropriate manager.
- Handle all incoming press enquiries, working with the Business Development and Partnerships Manager to
ensure all responses are accurate, informative, appropriate and serve the charity’s strategic goals.
- Oversee the stock levels of publicity materials, and order new stock when requested.
- Create simple designs such as social media graphics, following templates and adhering strictly to brand
guidelines
- Update the charity’s website when needed, ensuring all content follows accessibility and SEO best
practices.
- Act as a “brand champion”, advising internal staff and external partners on the best use of the charity’s
branding, in line with existing brand guidelines.
- Oversee the work of freelance and volunteer photographers, maintaining an up-to-date photo bank and
ensuring appropriate permissions are recorded for all photography, particularly of young people.
- Keep up to date with developments on social media platforms including changes to algorithms, and adjust
working practices accordingly.

- To carry out such other duties as deemed appropriate and agreed and known to be within the competence
of the post holder.
- To work collaboratively at all times.
- To participate in training and development activities.
- To attend supervision meetings with the line manager.
- To support the fundraising activities of The Proud Trust.
- To have a strong commitment to the values of equality, LGBTQ+ rights, youth and community work and the
values held by the Proud Trust.
- To value diversity, ensuring that individuals are treated fairly and respected for their contribution in terms
of experience, knowledge and skills.
- To maintain confidentiality of information in line with data protection requirements and Proud Trust policy.
- To comply with Health and Safety requirements, including having an awareness of personal responsibilities
to maintain a safe working environment.
- To lead or aid in the development of student placements and volunteers working within The Proud Place.
- To contribute to staff and volunteer recruitment processes.
- To comply with all other policies and procedures of The Proud Trust.
