POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Marketing & Communications Manager will create and execute a compelling written and visual communications strategy to support the mission of The Vacaville Neighborhood Boys & Girls Club (VNBGC), with the goal to increase awareness of Club activities and programs, raise funds to support the work of the Club and increase awareness of our role within the community.
Our Marketing & Communications Manager will be experienced in and responsible for creation of content and integration of multiple marketing mediums to tell our story and support fundraising efforts. This position will create social, digital, video, and print advertising, and will be responsible for increasing the visibility of VNBGC with the goal of growing donor support of the organization.
The position will collaborate with the Director of Resource Development to design and implement VNBGC’s strategic marketing and communications plans. You will also actively work with our corporate partners, donors and supporters to help them communicate their philanthropic impact and corporate social responsibility initiatives that support the Club.

REQUIREMENTS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT:

· Must be able to move freely about the Club environment to supervise and monitor activities of staff and members, maintain a safe environment for all.
· Ability to lift 25 lbs.
· May be required to walk, sit, or stand for long periods of time.
· Must have reliable transportation.
· Required to pass criminal background check.
· Bilingualism in Spanish and English is a bonus.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $22.00 per hour

Responsibilities

The Communications Manager will report to the Director of Resource Development and be responsible to:

  • Communicate VNBGC’s organizational goals, mission, and vision to internal and external stakeholders with the goal to increase organizational recognition and fundraising success.
  • Create and implement impactful marketing initiatives across social and digital media, as well as email and print campaigns that are designed to support growth of donations to the organization by creating compelling content
  • Partner with the VNBGC’s Administrative and Executive team to create and maintain VNBGC’s brand standards and ensure consistent style and voice on all written communications and marketing materials.
  • Research and write compelling stories that communicate the heart of our mission in a way that stimulates passion and commitment to the cause by telling the story of the children we serve and how we impact their lives.
  • Collaborate with the VNBGC staff and community partners to find new and innovative ways to increase awareness of our cause and raise funds.
  • Work with businesses to create fundraising campaigns or events.
  • Develop and deliver captivating content to be used on social media, website blog, email campaigns, and across traditional media channels to help donors feel connected to the cause, recognized, appreciated, and committed. This includes managing the editorial calendar, researching, content development, writing, editing, basic graphic design, video editing, and scheduled publishing on all social media, blog, and email platforms.
  • Design and manage effective social media campaigns, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Work with VNBGC staff and partners to collect necessary marketing materials, including photography, videography, stories, and testimonials from the kids and camps, and look for ways to increase our ability to connect with the kids and families we serve.
  • Develop successful e-mail strategy and implement campaigns to increase engagement with current donors. This position will be responsible for creating email content, along with testing and sending emails, managing distribution lists and subscriber administration.
  • Use analytic tools to assess and report upon the effectiveness and impact of existing web, email, and social media initiatives, as well as determine new opportunities or strategies based on available data.
  • Work with Director of Resource Development and key partners to create customized cause marketing content for their social media and digital channels to showcase their support of the cause and increase the “feel good” for both employees and customers.
  • Stay continuously up-to-date on current social and digital marketing trends and opportunities; research and implement new strategies as needed.
  • Conceptualize a VNBGC swag e-store that is profitable.
  • Create partnership videos, Powerpoint presentations, marketing materials and other collateral for donor meetings, presentations, and fundraising events.
  • Manage the development, design, formatting, and production of collateral materials.
  • Develop content and produce VNBGC’s annual report, coordinating with the Director of Resource Development and CEO.
  • Develop and maintain digital and print marketing collateral related to fundraising.
  • Represent VNBGC in a professional manner at all events, as well as to donors, media, club staff, and other constituents. Occasional travel will be required to key meetings and events.
