Description

The Communications and Content Specialist is responsible for internal and external communications, to shape the voice of the NSF brand, and share stories with the media, government stakeholders and beyond. Included in this role is the delivery of public relations activities in line with the marketing strategy.
Key to this role is working with NSF Colleges in NSW, VIC and the ACT to uncover stories of power and resilience from our student body, documenting these stories with respect and grace, and sharing these stories on owned, earned and paid media channels.
Your skills in shaping narrative will also inform wider marketing strategy, including messaging on paid media and social media support

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential to this role are exceptional writing skills, cultural sensitivity and the knowledge of media hooks and cycles

  • Tertiary qualification in marketing, communications or journalism
  • Experience in the production of written content. This role requires a strong and experienced copywriter.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a hands-on marketing/communications/journalism role
  • Cultural sensitivity, and the ability to instil trust and confidence, particularly when working with subjects for whom English is not their first language
  • Experience in the Australian Education or Government sector is preferred but not essential.
  • A positive attitude, be driven by purpose, and be solution focussed
  • Strong writing and proof-reading skills.
