DESCRIPTION
This position is a part of the Non-Academic Staff Association (NASA).
This position has a term length of twelve months plus a day and offers a comprehensive benefits package.
Location - This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person. Work primarily takes place at North Campus, Edmonton.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Communications & Industry Engagement Coordinator leads the centre’s communications, digital presence, stakeholder engagement, and industry outreach efforts. This multifaceted role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, telling impactful stories, coordinating events, and managing digital channels. The successful candidate will help grow CUIIC’s network, attract sponsors and members, and raise the profile of our research and education programs through strong communication and marketing initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven ability to interact professionally with a wide range of stakeholders and industry partners, municipalities, firms, and sponsors within the underground infrastructure sector, such as but not limited to: academics, contractors, consultants, manufacturers, non-profit agencies, and government agencies.
- Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills with a creative flair.
- Experience with social media platforms, email marketing, and website content management.
- Proficiency with design tools such as Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign.
- Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a small, dynamic team.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for events and industry engagement.
- Prior experience in stakeholder engagement, sponsorship coordination, or outreach is an asset.
- Interest in infrastructure, construction, or engineering sectors is an advantage.
