Description

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL MEET THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in a relevant discipline or equivalent combination of some post-secondary education and relevant work experience. Key areas include communications, public relations, resource development or other relevant discipline.
  • 2-4 years of professional experience with organizational communications.
  • 1-2 years of professional experience coordinating and leading collaborative working groups; coordinating events; communications; fundraising and donor stewardship; as well as working with volunteers.
  • Experience and a professional focus in both official languages with writing, public relations; developing online and print corporate communications.
  • Experience liaising with community groups and associations preferred
  • Experience and interest in working with marginalized and diverse clientele, such as low-income, high-needs, newcomer, and a variety of multicultural communities.
  • Experience in a non-profit, community-based organization preferred
  • Experience developing communications within a unionized environment preferred
  • Knowledge of grant and proposal writing as part of fundraising efforts.
  • Knowledge and understanding of community resources and community-based health care preferred
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English, spoken and written.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in French, spoken and written
  • Fluency in another language relevant to our client population is an asset.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends if required.
