Pinecrest Queensway Community Health Centre is the host organization for this position, in their capacity as Administrator of the OHT-ÉSO. JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator to work closely with the OHT- ÉSO backbone team, Primary Care Network, Collaborative Leadership Group, Client Partner Table and partner organizations to plan, develop and implement a full-scope of high-quality communications activities to support the OHT-ÉSO’s goals and priorities. The Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator is a communications generalist who has proven experience creating and implementing communications and stakeholder engagement strategies within a multi-organization, multi-sector environment, using evidence based practices, preferably in a health care environment.
Reporting to the Director of the OHT-ESO, the Communications Coordinator will work closely with communications professionals across OHT partners and the OHT-ÉSO backbone team to accomplish established objectives and goals in a variety of areas including media relations, event planning, internal and external communications, partner and community engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute communication and stakeholder engagement strategies to meet OHT- ÉSO objectives
  • Develop and maintain digital platforms, including content creation, analytics and engagement through the website, social media channels, newsletter
  • Support project communications needs, including reports, graphic design, articles and copyediting
  • Uphold brand standards and maintenance of templates and tools
  • Support media relations, including development of press releases and responses to inquiries as required
  • Facilitate implementation of OHT-ESO communications strategy guidelines
  • Support existing relationships with community partners and organizations through internal communication strategies and sharing of resources
  • Assist with planning and development of key Ministry of Health deliverables
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop communication and engagement plans to actively engage and advance OHT-ESO work and priorities
  • Implement communication best practices across reports and materials
  • Other duties as required and assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • 1-3 years of community development, engagement, public education or communications in a health or social service setting
  • Post-secondary degree in communications, media, public relations, journalism, or relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and communicate clearly with a wide variety of audiences – including patients, caregivers, physicians, primary care providers, community agencies
  • Experience working with patient/ client, care partner and provider committees an asset;
  • Ability to translate data into understandable metrics and narratives, to clearly track progress;
  • Experience developing tailored strategies to engage and communicate with diverse communities
  • Exceptional written, verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Demonstrated advanced computer skills including: Microsoft Office; Social Media; Canva; Adobe products; eNewsletter platforms; Wordpress and similar applications
  • Strong interest in working as a member of a small team
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills and time management skills
  • Commitment to health equity, anti-racism, anti-oppression and client and caregiver co-design
  • Knowledge of AODA guidelines
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating and implementing communications strategies for collaborative initiatives with multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrated effective presentation skills, including the ability to present and discuss complex information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and increases understanding
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and collaborative skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the health sector, including primary care, acute care, home care, long term care, and community support services is an asset

    - Bilingual (English/French) is mandatory requirement
