GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Communications Associate will be responsible for communicating projects and initiatives of Pensacola Habitat for Humanity including the Pensacola Habitat for Humanity ReStore, Homebuyer Program, Community Development Program, Community Land Trust, Rental Program, fundraising events, volunteer opportunities and overall affiliate. The Communications Associate reports to the Communications Manager and will work closely with the Communications and Marketing team, the Community Engagement team and others where communications needs exist. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: · Commit to Pensacola Habitat for Humanity’s mission of building homes, communities, and hope. · Contribute to the creation and implementation of an annual communications plan; this includes, but is not limited to, print media, digital media, social media, and research data. · Administer and create content for the organization’s network of websites and full range of social media outlets, including for the affiliate and the ReStore. · Create and track digital marketing campaigns through Hootsuite, Facebook Ads, Google Ads, and other platforms. · Assist in the planning and execution of a variety of annual events, special builds and outreach events in the community. · Write copy for a variety of publications, advertisements, and media releases. · Film and edit videos to be used across different platforms. · Support all departments with media and public speaking appearances. · Ensure that all outgoing and internal communications meet Pensacola Habitat’s brand standards in both design and messaging. · Build and maintain relationships with clients, volunteers, corporate partners, vendors, faith-based organizations, and other stakeholders to strengthen Pensacola Habitat’s position in the community. · Participate in professional development or training opportunities to stay on the cutting edge of communications tools and strategies. · Complete other duties as assigned by the Communications Manager. Requirements KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: · Excellent working knowledge of MS Office. · Experience using Hootsuite, Squarespace and Adobe Suite preferred. · Strong graphic design skills. · Experience with Canva. · Familiar with Adobe Creative Suite, primarily InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop is a plus. · Excellent verbal and written communication skills. · Excellent organizing and planning skills. · Ability to work within a team and communicate effectively with other departments. · Ability to be self-motivated, working independently with minimal supervision. · Ability to be detail oriented. · Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. · Ability to work respectfully, courteously and with a positive attitude when dealing with volunteers, staff, homebuyers, homeowners, and community partners. · Ability to be flexible and accept frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events. · Knowledge of Salesforce is a plus. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE: · Bachelor’s degree required. · 1 - 3 years of experience in Public Relations, Marketing, or Communications preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: This position is performed primarily in an office setting and may require sitting for long periods of time. Frequently, this position requires working offsite while performing other tasks requiring lifting of up to 25 lbs. This position requires a valid state driver’s license, safe driving record, and insurability through our vehicle insurance carrier. This position also requires additional pre-employment screenings. The anticipated work schedule follows general ‘business hours’ but is flexible to meet after-hours and weekend demands, with no fewer than 40 hours per week expected.
