Responsibilities/Job Description:
Here at Fairview, we are now seeking a Communications Center Supervisor to work in our Emergency Medical Services (EMS) department at our Medical Transportation location in St Paul, MN! This is a 1.0 FTE, exempt position that will work Monday through Friday with possible weekend coverage primarily on the day/evening shift.
The Communications Center Supervisor will provide operational supervision to the Emergency Medical Services Communication Center staff. Assures a high level of technical proficiency and professionalism while maintaining a high level of customer service and positive patient experience. Creates and maintains an environment of employee development and engagement.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Certified or IAED-D CPR, within 6 months of hire
  • Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) certified within 6 months of hire
  • 2 years of leadership experience
  • 2 years of related communications center leadership

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • An Associate degree in business administration, healthcare administration, management, or related field preferred.
  • 2 of years of prehospital care experience
  • Nationally Registered EMT or Paramedic
  • Minnesota EMSRB Certified EMT or Paramedic
  • EMD Q certifications within 6 months of hire

    $76211.20-$107598.40 / Annual *based on full time (80 hours/ppd or 1.0 FTE
Responsibilities
  • Ensures policy compliance by dispatchers and communication specialists.
  • Ensures accurate triage and effective deployment of Emergency Medical Services resources in compliance with policy and procedure.
  • Assures accurate data entry and collection.
  • Investigates and resolves concerns related to request for service and dispatch of Emergency Medical Services resources.
  • Hires, mentors, disciplines, evaluates and manages performance of assigned staff.
  • Creates and manages communication center staff schedules based on anticipated demand levels. Assures and maintains designated minimum communication center staffing levels. Assures accurate and efficient timekeeping for communication center staff.
  • Fosters a culture of improvement, efficiency and innovative thinking.
  • Develops matrix to track data to assure performance compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards.
  • Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements including but not limited to growth initiatives, quality improvement, and service line advancement.
