About the Medicare Mental Health Check In Service Medicare Mental Health Check In is a landmark national digital mental health initiative delivered by St Vincent’s in partnership with the Australian Government. The service provides free, accessible and evidence-based low-intensity CBT support for Australians experiencing early signs of stress, distress, anxiety and emerging mental health challenges. Designed as part of the broader Medicare Mental Health ecosystem, the program aims to improve early access to care and support Australians before mental health challenges escalate into more complex presentations. The Opportunity Communications & Change Manager – Digital Health Reporting to the National Director, Service Growth, with a dotted line into the National Director Communications & Brand, this highly visible role will lead strategic communications, engagement and change initiatives across Bringing Care Home and the Medicare Mental Health Check In program. You will work across executive leadership, strategy, communications, operational and clinical teams to develop impactful communication strategies that build understanding, alignment and engagement internally and externally. This role will suit a highly capable communications professional who thrives in fast-paced and evolving environments, enjoys translating complexity into compelling messaging and is passionate about driving meaningful organisational and system-wide change. Your Key Responsibilities Strategic Communications & Change Lead and deliver communications strategies supporting the Bringing Care Home initiative and Medicare Mental Health Check In service Translate complex strategic priorities and change initiatives into clear, engaging and meaningful communications Develop communication plans, messaging frameworks, stakeholder presentations and supporting engagement materials Coordinate multi-channel communications across intranet, newsletters, digital content, video, social and employee engagement platforms Support executive messaging, town halls and organisational engagement initiatives Stakeholder Engagement & Storytelling Act as a key storyteller for Bringing Care Home and Medicare Mental Health Check In Develop compelling stories and content that amplify innovation, service impact and transformation outcomes Partner closely with operational, strategy and communications teams to support integrated communications delivery Work with the Integration & Engagement Lead and broader MMHCI leadership team to support stakeholder communication activities nationally Collaboration & Reputation Management Collaborate with Public Affairs, Advocacy and Communications teams across St Vincent’s nationally Support communication activities aligned to Department requirements and service priorities Identify reputational risks and opportunities in partnership with communications and media teams Ensure communication approaches are aligned, values-led and audience-centred What Success Looks Like Within your first 12 months, you will have: Successfully implemented integrated communication strategies across both Bringing Care Home and Medicare Mental Health Check In initiatives Increased organisational awareness and engagement regarding connected care transformation initiatives Delivered impactful executive communications, stakeholder engagement campaigns and employee experience initiatives Strengthened communication consistency and storytelling across multiple stakeholder groups Helped position St Vincent’s as a leader in connected and digitally enabled healthcare About You You are more than a communicator — you are a storyteller, connector and change champion who understands the power of communication in shaping culture, engagement and transformation. You Will Bring Demonstrated experience delivering impactful communications and engagement initiatives across complex stakeholder environments Strong capability in translating change management and strategic priorities into clear, compelling and audience-focused communication plans and messaging Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills across a broad range of communication channels and formats Experience leading employee engagement initiatives, internal campaigns and event communications Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced environments A collaborative, adaptable and solutions-focused mindset with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and contribute wherever needed It Would Be Great If You Also Bring Experience within healthcare, government or not-for-profit sectors Exposure to organisational transformation, service reform or large-scale change initiatives Understanding of digital health, virtual care or mental health service environments Qualifications Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, media, marketing, public relations or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
