JOB SUMMARY

As the Communications Coordinator, you’ll be responsible for executing our monthly content calendar and maintaining brand-aligned communications across digital platforms. You’ll manage social media, update our website, edit short-form videos, assist with poster distribution, and support general marketing efforts that help grow our community and visibility.

SKILLS

  • Proficient in social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube)
  • Familiar with Canva or other simple design tool
  • Comfortable using video editing tools (e.g., CapCut, InShot, or equivalent)
  • Experience with website content management systems (Wix preferred)
  • Strong written communication and visual storytelling skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Interest in the arts and community engagement is a strong asset

Responsibilities
  • Plan and maintain a monthly content calendar based on programming and outreach
  • Collect content from exhibitions, workshops, events, and outreach activities
  • Edit reels and short-form videos (e.g., exhibition walk-throughs, artist highlights)
  • Create simple, on-brand graphics for posters and social media
  • Liaise with a professional graphic designer for high-level print materials
  • Post regularly to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube
  • Update program and exhibition content on the Chester Art Centre website
  • Draft and send a weekly email newsletter to subscribers
  • Collect and maintain signed photo release forms
  • Support reporting and photo archiving as needed
  • Promote monthly free art kits and share workshop/exhibition recaps
  • Ensure all external communications align with brand colours, fonts, and tone
  • Distribute printed posters in the community
