Responsibilities

The main responsibilities of the Communications Coordinator include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with various administrative tasks – these are instrumental in the development and execution of the Communications teams plans and strategies.
  • Managing and updating the teams PR calendars and work flow documents.
  • Keeping track of press coverage – not only as it lands but, for key projects, proactive awareness of it as it gets confirmed and dates of publication to ensure the coverage is tracked.
  • Lead on press cuttings – the presentation of all coverage to the entire teams of Claridge’s, The Connaught, The Berkeley and The Emory.
  • Directing on reactive responses and declines to incoming requests – imagery requests, charity requests etc.
  • Monitoring changes and updates in the British media, ensuring our databases are up to date and learning all about the luxury press and their movements.
  • Booking VIPs into each hotel and providing thorough briefs to the in-house teams ahead of these important stays.
  • Assisting in keeping external agencies up to date with press materials and images.
  • Learning to craft compelling press releases and mail outs to the UK press – an invaluable skill for a career in PR.
  • Assisting with the smooth running of this exciting department.
  • Assistance with the organisation of major campaigns and projects.
  • Assistance with putting together summary presentations for quarterly meetings where these documents will be presented.
  • Participate in brainstorming and planning sessions, learning how a press team crafts strategies and annual calendars.
  • Assisting with all the events put on by the Press team from intimate dinners to large parties.
  • Assistance with guest lists and briefing the heads of business on attendees.
