* Commencement: Mid-May 2026  * Long term role, based in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea * Open to PNG Citizens    About the Program  The PNG Partnerships for Improving Education (PIE) Program is a 5-year investment by the Australian Government in partnership with the Government of PNG to support the delivery and improve access to quality education (early grades) in Papua New Guinea, particularly at the national and sub-national level in four target locations.  The expected end-of-investment outcomes (EOIO) for the PIE investment are: * Targeted Outcome 1: More children (girls, boys, and children with disabilities) in the early grades enrol and stay in school in target locations using replicable and sustainable approaches * Targeted Outcome 2: Target locations are using sustainable and replicable approaches to support improvements in the quality of teaching and learning in the early grades * Enabling Outcome 3: Evidence of systemic change within the education sector that improves the delivery of early grades education.   About the Opportunity  The PIE Program is looking for an enthusiastic Communications Coordinator to support the program’s communications team with day-to-day communications content production and delivery. This post reports to the Communications Specialist.    Key responsibilities  * Prepare drafts of written and digital content in a variety of communication formats, including media releases, social media posts, newsletters and reports. * Lead the coordination of PIE events, including coordination with the Australian High Commission and partners and managing logistics for Public Diplomacy events and content gathering related activities.  * Keep the content plan updated and ensure PIE’s published content in PNG is logged. * Produce quarterly reports of communications progress, including key statistics and metrics, as well as relevant weekly media updates to the PIE team. * Manage the PIE image bank; ensuring all multimedia files are stored and categorised appropriately, along with consent forms. * Support the PIE team with administrative and operational tasks including scheduling meetings, coordinating vendors, print and merchandise orders, as well as travel and procurement processes. * Regular analysis of social media and news articles relevant to the education and development sector. * Additional content creation tasks as may arise.   Key deliverables 1. Communications Content Development and Management Develop and maintain high-quality written and digital content across multiple platforms (media releases, social media, newsletters, reports), including maintaining an up-to-date content plan and managing the PIE image bank with appropriate categorisation and consent documentation. 2. Events and Public Diplomacy Coordination Lead the planning and coordination of PIE events and public diplomacy activities, including stakeholder engagement (e.g. Australian High Commission and partners), logistics management, and content capture. 3. Communications Monitoring, Reporting and Analysis Produce regular communications reporting (quarterly reports, weekly media updates) and conduct ongoing analysis of social media and relevant news to inform program visibility and engagement strategies   Key working relationships  * Communications Manager * Communications Specialist * MERLA Lead * GEDSI & Governance Lead   About You  For applications to be considered, a response to the key selection criteria below must be provided.    1. Professional experience * Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a relevant communications, public relations, marketing or administration management role. 2. Knowledge – demonstrated: * Understanding of communications and public diplomacy * Grasp of PNG’s media landscape * Interest in communications, media and events  3.
