Downer Professional Services is comprised of two business units, our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice and Team Downer, a major service partner to Defence. Together, we are a
multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for our clients in Defence and National Security.

We currently have an opportunity for a Communications Engineer in Melbourne to work on a Land project .

This role offers a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including:

• Lead complex communication engineering tasks, providing expert advice and contributing to the advancement of engineering principles and practices.

• Exercise delegated engineering and regulatory authorities, ensuring compliance with technical standards and Defence frameworks.

• Identify and manage risks and uncertainties in planning and decision-making, applying sound engineering judgment to prioritise activities.

• Review and assess technical documentation and design packages, ensuring materiel meets endorsed requirements and safety standards.

• Foster collaboration and mentor junior engineers, while effectively managing team workflows, resources, and stakeholder communications.
