Job Title: Communications Lead, Rolls-Royce North America
Working Pattern: Fulltime
Working location: Reston, VA OR Indianapolis, IN
This role is critical in driving integration of communications activities across Rolls-Royce North America and provides the opportunity to be part of a high-energy team, working at pace to drive the transformation of Rolls-Royce at a pivotal point in its history.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Use insight and channel metrics to inform tactical delivery plans to achieve the desired outcome from awareness and understanding to behaviour or culture change.
  • Collaborate with Communications & Marketing colleagues and site-specific stakeholders to coordinate the day-to-day calendar of activity to reach key audiences across both digitally connected and non-connected work environments.
  • Work closely with the SVP Communications & Marketing Defense and North America, SVP Internal Communications and other business partners to identify opportunities, to ensure consistency of message and avoid unnecessary clashes in activity.
  • Produce and deliver communications content, including executive leadership messages, planned drumbeat activity and responses to emerging issues ensuring a smooth flow of information across leaderships levels, divisions and the region.
  • Work directly with the Communications partners and subject matter experts to produce and deliver consistent corporate narrative that reflects Rolls-Royce’s business strategy via our owned-channels in a way that reflects our corporate purpose and culture.
  • Topics include safety and security, business transformation, culture & behaviors, sustainability, technology, customer wins and compliance driven topics such as benefit enrollment.
  • Channels include print materials, digital (email, plasma screens, intranet) and in-person experiences including regional town halls, emails, video, storytelling, news items, global/regional newsletters, posters and deskdrops
  • Manage translations for materials or content shared with colleagues in Montreal, Canada.
  • Collaborate with other teams, including People (Human Resources) and other Business Enabler teams, to support project workstreams related to our Transformation or other change programs.
  • Stay abreast of current best practices in the industry and technology trends to continuously improve and learn— sharing knowledge across the Communications team as appropriate.
  • Regularly review and summarize insight and measurement data to recommend ways to evolve tactics to increase relevancy and impact.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates Degree in Liberal Arts, Marketing or Communication with 4 years of experience in Marketing and Communications, OR
  • Bachelors Degree in Liberal Arts, Marketing or Communication with 2 years of experience in Marketing and Communications, OR
  • Masters Degree in in Liberal Arts, Marketing or Communication JD/PhD

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent writing skills with experience in communications, journalism or related field.
  • Proven track record in communications production with good time management, attention to detail and organizational skills using MS Office and other tools e.g., Word, Excel, SharePoint, Poppulo, AppSpace
  • Proven ability to deliver results and work productively in a complex environment and/or matrixed organization.
  • Creative and high energy in bringing new thinking and challenge.
  • General awareness of employee engagement techniques.
  • Passion for and knowledge of engineering or technology sector.
  • Collaborative approach and proven track record of excellent teamwork across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience in relevant aerospace or defence industry
  • Experience working in a communications role in a matrixed organization

Responsibilities
