About the role: Location: Remote-first (United States) Full-time Exempt The cash compensation for this role is tailored to align with the cost of labor in different geographic markets. We've structured the base pay ranges for this role into zones for our geographic markets, and the specific base pay within the range will be determined by the candidate’s geographic location, job-related experience, knowledge, qualifications, and skills. Reporting to the Director of Communications As a Communications Lead, you’ll … Partner with our executives, customers, investors, and other leaders at Webflow to develop key narratives we want to bring to market, secure buy-in from leadership on comms strategy, and activate it across all earned and owned media channels. Oversee and execute all aspects of Webflow's external communications strategy, including developing and implementing media plans, coordinating press opportunities, and collaborating closely with internal comms, social, and employer brand to ensure consistent messaging across every channel. Own executive voice strategy: partner directly with the C-suite on press opportunities, speeches, op-eds, and thought leadership. Lead external press relations by managing PR agencies to deliver strategic, measurable results, while partnering with internal comms, social, and employer brand teams to ensure Webflow’s story is amplified with clarity and impact. Develop and maintain lasting relationships with key business and tech media to ensure they understand Webflow’s unique position as the leading Website Experience Platform (WXP). Advise the executive team on communications strategy and thought leadership opportunities, preparing them to maximize opportunities including media interviews and public engagements (e.g., keynotes, podcasts, etc.). Work cross-functionally with marketing, product, and other teams to amplify and extend the reach of our biggest campaigns and company milestones. About you: Requirements: 8+ years of experience in communications, PR, and/or brand leadership roles, with a track record of shaping and executing external communications strategies at high-growth or enterprise technology companies. Deep understanding of the technology industry and the ability to translate complex concepts (e.g. AI, product innovation, market dynamics) into clear, compelling narratives. Proven success managing PR agencies to deliver measurable results in media coverage, share of voice, and reputation impact. You’ll thrive as a Communications Lead if you have: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in executive voice and thought leadership. Strong media relations experience and established relationships with key business and tech journalists. Experience building and executing crisis communications plans, with the judgment to advise executives in high-pressure moments. Ability to measure the impact of communications efforts and use data to guide strategy. Strong project management skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. A collaborative approach that enables you to partner seamlessly with internal comms, social, and employer brand to drive consistent storytelling across all channels.
