Corporate Affairs, within the CMC, builds advocacy for the impact Bankwest creates as we transform into a WA-based national digital bank. Corporate Affairs is an integrated team that supports Bankwest’s leaders with strategic communications counsel and tactical delivery. Our work helps the bank deliver its strategy through managing reputation risks, communicating with clarity and context, and building strong relationships with stakeholders. Do work that matters: As a Communications Manager, Corporate Affairs for Bankwest, you will contribute to the delivery of our Bankwest Corporate Affairs strategic priorities. Your role will focus on creating compelling narratives, campaigns and strategies that support Bankwest employee and stakeholder engagement. You will also have the opportunity to work as part of the broader Bankwest CA team on proactive, reactive and issues-based internal and external communications with the potential to impact Bankwest’s reputation. Your responsibilities will include: Develop and execute effective internal and external communication strategies and campaigns to support Bankwest employee engagement and Bankwest’s ambition to be Australia’s favourite digital bank. Craft compelling written leadership communication and take a leading role in planning and executing employee events to ensure alignment and effectiveness of senior leader face-to-face communication and engagement opportunities. Manage key internal communication channels and measure their effectiveness through a range of mechanisms, including some operational tasks. Contribute to Corporate Affairs issues management and proactive communications , and coordinating responses and actions, in collaboration with teams across CMC. Develop creative assets for channels including earned and owned media, social media and internal channels to support broader campaigns, including video production. Build close working relationships with teams across Corporate Affairs, CMC, Bankwest and CBA to align communication with Bankwest and Group-wide campaigns to drive greater impact. Have a keen sense for potential risk and reputational issues and effectively manage risk as it relates to your role. We’re interested in people who have: At least 2 years’ experience in a communications role (Marketing/Corporate Affairs/Journalism/Stakeholder Relations) or an equivalent role in either in-house or PR agency. A passion for delivering effective communications, be results-orientated, and able to contribute to and execute strategic programs of work and tactical activities Strong experience in stakeholder engagement and relationships Proven written communication skills, media relations experience is preferred as well as a sound knowledge of internal channels, with a keen interest and knowledge of public affairs An ability to thrive in fast-paced environments Experience in financial services will be highly regarded either through agency or in house. You will be well supported by knowledge and experience in dealing with financial and consumer media, and have experience in preparing briefing materials for issues management.
