Description

Job Title: Communications Manager – Green Circular Economy Impact
Be the Voice That Drives the Green Circular Economy
Are you ready to challenge the status quo, influence public opinion, and build a cleaner, greener future? Greyhound Recycling is looking for a Communications Manager who’s hungry to lead change and craft powerful stories that reshape behaviours and protect the environment. As a market leader in waste management and recycling, we are passionate about building a greener, cleaner future. Our mission is to drive all waste into the circular economy ensuring resources are used efficiently and the small residual that is left is turned into energy. As a tech-driven company, we leverage data and AI to track environmental impact in real time—giving you instant access to meaningful insights and success stories you can share to inspire action. Backed by an experienced leadership team, this role puts you at the forefront of external and internal communications—developing strategies that inform, inspire, and impact everything from policy to people.

Own the Customer Experience

  • Ensure all communication—website, app, social, helpdesks—is clear, intuitive, and brand-consistent.
  • You’ll be the bridge between what we say and what customers feel
Responsibilities

External Communications Strategy

  • Lead storytelling efforts across multimedia platforms (video, social, digital, print, broadcast).
  • Champion privatization and highlight its extraordinary successes within the Irish waste management industry.
  • Identify and build strong relationships with key stakeholders—government, media, industry, and public bodies to drive our circular economy story.

Campaign Creation & Behaviour Change

  • Design and manage campaigns that encourage customers to divert waste out of their black bins into their green/brown bins.
  • Use technology tools to share success stories.
  • Highlight the financial and environmental costs of EU fines to Ireland when we don’t meet our targets—tell the story, make it matter.

Brand Growth & Customer Acquisition

  • Drive public perception to position Greyhound as the greener, smarter choice.
  • Launch bold, creative campaigns to win new customers while keeping our current ones loyal.
  • Use humour, data, and purpose to create scroll-stopping content on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.

Churn Reduction & Internal Comms

  • Empower our frontline teams—drivers and helpers—with great internal communication.
  • Promote a strong company culture where small actions make a big difference (like bin placement!).

Own the Customer Experience

  • Ensure all communication—website, app, social, helpdesks—is clear, intuitive, and brand-consistent.
  • You’ll be the bridge between what we say and what customers feel.

Content Production & Media Relations

  • Roll up your sleeves: film, edit, fact-check, write, and produce on-the-ground stories.
  • Pitch stories, respond to press, and build a media network that amplifies our impact.

Tender Writing & Strategic Docs

  • Help us win new work by writing sharp, persuasive corporate tenders and submissions.

Campaign: Bags to Bins

  • Lead our campaign converting 12,000 households in Dublin City Centre from bags to bins.
  • Coordinate messaging, door-to-door outreach, media, and community buy-in.
  • This change isn’t just about convenience or cost—it’s about protecting people and the planet. Torn refuse bags or sharp needles pose serious health risks to our bin collectors and the public, while polluting the local environment. Switching to bins removes this health and safety hazard, reduces litter and contamination, and supports a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable waste management system like everyone else is using throughout the country.
