JOB DESCRIPTION

This is an opportunity for an experienced communications manager to join Motorola Solutions’ Global Communications & Media team in a cross-functional role supporting product and corporate communications, reputation management and special projects. The right candidate excels in gathering facts and insights, evaluating outcomes and recommending a course of action. They are comfortable navigating complex situations and adapting as events evolve. An impeccable project manager and skilled writer, they are capable of building and managing a communications plan from start to finish with only high-level direction and oversight. The position reports to the head of the Global Communications & Media team and is highly visible across the organization.

Scope of responsibilities:

  • Serves as a strategic partner to sales, product, government affairs, legal, and other functions on a variety of critical matters, including issues and litigation
  • Develops situation-based communications plans to safeguard corporate reputation
  • Writes thoughtful, well-structured internal and external content
  • Confidently manages interactions with the media in proactive and reactive situations
  • Consumes a wide range of news on topics of interest to the company - from data privacy and cybersecurity to geopolitical developments - to help counsel and inform communications strategies
  • Exercises sound judgement and discretion

Specific knowledge and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 6+ years of communications, PR, and/or media experience
  • Strategic thinker who can navigate a network, gather information, and translate complexity into clear, concise recommendations, media strategies, and messaging
  • Detailed project manager who can lead complex workstreams with cross-functional contributors, meet tight deadlines, and easily adjust as circumstances change
  • Polished and proven counselor who questions in a constructive way, exhibits strong judgment, and exerts influence across all levels of the organization
  • Outstanding storyteller with impeccable writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Self-starter and motivator who consistently drives results

Target Base Salary Range: $72,700 - $145,400 USD
Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
