Description

The communications team operates in a very busy working environment, promoting and enhancing the reputation of the Trust to a wide range of audiences that includes 5,000 staff; a catchment population of over 535,000; local and national broadcast; print and social media; GPs; clinical commissioning groups (CCGs); Integrated Care Boards; local authorities, MPs and other NHS organisations.
The department plays a key role in managing the reputation of the organisation. It leads on campaigns; media relations; FOI; day-to-day communications and engagement with staff; corporate digital and social media platforms; communications with external stakeholders; corporate publications; events and SASH Charity.
Reporting to the senior communications manager, the post holder will be involved in all aspects of our work including media relations, digital communications, reputation management and internal communications. The communications officer will deputise for the senior communications manager in their absence.
The team is looking for a well-rounded and experienced communications officer with good time management skills and the ability to deal diplomatically with a wide range of stakeholders.
Candidates who would require sponsorship should assess their circumstances against the relevant criteria set out by the Government before applying for this role. As of April 4, 2024, the minimum salary for a Skilled Worker visa in the UK is £38,700 per year. This is the minimum salary threshold for new applications. As a result, we will not be able to offer sponsorship for this role.
The post-holder must have media experience and should ideally have previous experience of content management systems to help maintain the Trust’s internal and public-facing websites. Whilst not wholly essentially, the ideal candidate would also possess some experience filming and editing content for social media and web.
